To
first time users, TV Scout presents itself as a
retrieval system. Its functionality is very similar to a printed
TV program guide. TV Scout reveals its filtering
functionality progressively. |
The
web-based service TV Scout provides users
with personalized TV schedules.
Personal interest cannot only be formulated through the use of
content-based tools such as keyword search, but also using tools based on the ratings
provided by other users sharing the same interests (collaborative
filtering). In order to
support users with long-term interests, multiple queries can be
compiled into a user profile using the query
set architecture. The
TV Scout is the result of a joint project of GMD-IPSI and the TV guide
publisher TV Today. In April 2001, it
had 17.000 registered users.
